No Thanks to Edwards on Iraq

Emailed to his website 10/17/02

Dear Senator Edwards,

We are very disappointed that you voted for the Iraq war resolution. We do not have confidence that the Bush administration will make a good faith effort to resolve the conflict with Iraq peacefully. Very little that administration officials have said or done up until now indicates much interest in working with the UN, resuming weapons inspections, listening to and cooperating with other countries, or resolving the conflict with Iraq through any means other than war. We fear that Congress has now given the President a blank check to go to war, unilaterally if need be, and that this deeply flawed decision will come back to haunt us all.

Tom Munk, for The Committee for an Active, Non-Violent Response to Terrorism of the Chapel Hill Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker)
